THIS IS ABOUT
This book is about my rediscovery of a region that provided me with the means to become a better human being, even if I didn’t realize it at the time. Mount Roraima Tepui, known as the “Mother of All Waters” in the Pemon language, became my sanctuary, and this book encompasses the most evident aspects of the flat- topped sandstone mountain, from its biology, weather, natural history and the culture who belongs to the mountain.
My goal with this book is to succinctly describe for readers of all ages the most important aspects of Roraima Tepui, how it inspired me with every step and every drop of sweat during my treks to the summit, and ultimately became a source of personal growth to the bond created through these adventures with my cherished Roroimökok friends.
My aim is to freely distribute copies of the book to all of the Public-School libraries for the Miami-Dade and Broward Counties Public Schools.
Join me on this journey of discovery by supporting the crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter.com.
I’m really proud of the outcome we reached for my first book.
RORAIMA AT A GLANCE
Mount Roraima Tepui is one of the world's most important natural environments, located in Venezuela's Canaima National Park.
It is one of approximately 125 flat mountain-tops, known as Tepui, and is protected by both the Tepui Natural Monument Act and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Decree.
This ancient geological formation is considered significant due to its unique ecology, biological endemism, and historical significance as one of the oldest geological formations on the planet.
The mountain's indigenous name, "Mother of all Waters," reflects its importance as a vital natural resource.
In this text, I promised to take readers on a journey to the summit of Mount Roraima Tepui, where they will be shown the natural history and current environmental conservation status through simple text and images.
Join me as we explore this natural wonder and gain a deeper understanding of its importance.
You’ll love this book. Here’s why

The project will be launched in two phases.
During the first phase, I will raise 15% of the total cost of the project funds to complete the design and production of prototypes, which -in the case of the book- will then be present to the board of the County Public Schools of Miami-Dade and Broward for approval. This phase will help us ensure that the final product meets our standards and is ready for distribution.
The second phase of the campaign will be launched in November 2024 at full scale with mass media (TV and Local radios networks interviews) and social media campaign, that will focus on raising the necessary funds for the production and distribution of the books and perks. I will work with printing facilities abroad to produce the books and have them shipped to the US, and then distribute to the 846 schools, and provide the perks to our founders and backers according to their participation.
We are excited to bring this project to life, and with your support, we can make it
a reality.
Stay tuned for updates and be sure to join us on this journey!

Luis Alfredo Brunicardi
Traveler
Hi, I am Luis Alfredo, and I have been a professional in the hospitality and nature tourism industry for almost three decades. I started my career in marketing in the food industry, but in 1987, I made a sudden change and started to lead tours at Los Roques National Park in Venezuela. As a teenager in the early '80s, I was fortunate to immerse myself in the region inhabited by the Eñapa (Panare) people in southern Venezuela. My passion for nature and local cultures, along with my commitment to social responsibility, have earned me the nickname "Chiguire" (capybara) among Llaneros (cowboys) in the vast Apure savannas of my beloved birth country. I have been educated in Venezuela, the UK, and the US in marketing, tourism, hospitality, natural history, management, leadership, photography, and videography. I have had extensive experience as an entrepreneur, executive, consultant, and public servant for small and medium-sized businesses, governments, and multilateral organizations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. It's been quite a ride! Currently, I am living in Miami, Florida, and am thrilled to introduce my first publication, "Journey to Roraima Tepuy," which showcases the breathtaking beauty and magic of my 25th ascent of Venezuela's iconic World Heritage Site."
